Wangjing Park is a pocket park renovation project serving surrounding communities, commercial visitors and public urban activities. Through removing the original boundaries, optimizing pedestrian circulation and adding leisure nodes, the project improves the openness, accessibility and public staying experience of the park.
The project includes urban furniture and landscape facilities such as a mountain-shaped water curtain sculpture, entrance signage, leisure seating, landscape lighting, wisteria pergola, heart-shaped flower beds, drainage grates and rain garden facilities. Among them, the water curtain sculpture combines entrance image, interactive experience and seating functions. The seating, flower beds and pergola provide spaces for people to stay, communicate and rest in the shade, while the signage and landscape lighting improve wayfinding and nighttime usability.
In terms of material application, the project combines the needs of ecological park renovation and uses metal, stone, wood and ecological planting materials for the overall construction. Metal components are used for signage, the water curtain installation, landscape lighting and some structural facilities. Stone and paving materials are used for walkways, flower beds and seating interfaces. The project ultimately transforms the originally enclosed green space with limited openness into an urban public space that integrates leisure, interaction, viewing, wayfinding and ecological landscape functions.
