The Rotating Water Drop Park project uses urban furniture products such as rotating flower beds, water-drop seats, circular seats, pergola, signage, street lights, lawn water-drop sculptures and rain garden facilities to reorganize the site’s wayfinding, resting, activity, caregiving and landscape functions.
Inspired by the concept of “rotating water drops,” the rotating flower beds guide people into the site and provide temporary waiting spaces for pedestrians. Water-drop seats, circular seats and seats under the pergola provide spaces for resting, communication and children’s caregiving. The lawn water-drop sculptures are combined with active small hills, enhancing children’s activities and interactive experiences. Signage and street lights improve the site’s wayfinding and nighttime usability.
In terms of material application, the project uses stainless steel, stone and ecological planting materials for the overall construction. The water-drop pergola uses special-shaped stainless steel plate roofing, stainless steel ceiling panels and tree-like structural support columns, combining shading, resting and rainwater collection functions. The lawn water-drop sculptures, water-drop seats and some embedded ground components also use stainless steel materials, improving structural stability and visual recognition. The project ultimately transforms the originally congested street corner area with limited staying space into an urban public space integrating group leisure, children’s activities, wayfinding, waiting and ecological landscape functions.
